My Bard plymouth rock hen is always lay funny looking eggs.
It's really long and has weird lumpy ridges on top.
Does anybody here know why this is?

P.S. She did swallow a foot of fishing wire recently.

Once or twice some of our gold sex links have laid strange eggs, also. They were very pale, elongated, and wrinkled at the top? Usually it has cleared up within the next day or two...How long has your hen's eggs been like that? Always? I really don't know, but I hope someone will.

Did she pass the fishing line? It is possible I guess to have gotten the line tangled up and is constricting her plumbing somewhere along the line.

My Barred Rock lays large, off white eggs with wrinkles on the smaller end. The shell is also a bit thinner on this end as well. Her eggs have always had these characteristics.

No, she hasn't passed it.
We had to chop off what was left of the fishing wire, so Mary ann wouldn't swallow any more.

Sometimes hens lay funny looking eggs. I have one whose eggs are out of round and have "wrinkles" in them. They are fine.
The fishing line wouldn't cause egg shape issues.
