Lurking Member for 3 years ... HI!

I wish they would lol so far we have had to incubate them all.
Except the chicks we bought here recently. Only luck we have had with mommas takin care of their babes are the rabbits .
Hoping when we breed our goat she'll be a good momma.
Don't any of your hens get broody?

Yes but we worry about the other chickens with them. Sometimes the other chickens I the coop will peck at the babies.
Oh ok. I have a very large run and 3 coops for only 12 chickens. I can separate them when I need to. I think it would be a problem if they were all together and especially if they are crowded at all. How big is your run? Can you section off an area for the mom and add a small coop?

Lol where ya at? We get a lot of rain here too. Got some areas of the back yard that's just mud .... We got boots!
I'm curious where you both are....I'm in the rainy state, Washington. I live in mud boots all winter. LOL

Welcome to BYC! My hubby and I are about your age and just found and bought our place last January. Before we weren’t living any kind of farm life but now we have our horses on our own land and we’ve jumped into chickens. We are having so much fun! Good luck with your land search. We found ours on Zillow and except for necessary inspections we did everything online.
