I HAVE to get my 7 week old chicks out of my house before I am served divorce papers, lol!!! We just got a used tractor coop for temporary use till our coop is built. I need to prepare it asap and don't have time to wait for the Oxine AH to come in the mail so I am going to use Lysol just this first time. First I will shop vac out the coop, then spray w/ Lysol, then Permethrin 10%. My question is how do I use the Lysol: what ratio do I dilute the liquid Lysol to water, or do I use the liquid straight (the bottle says you can do either), or do I use the spray can of Lysol? Silly question I'm sure but I never use these types of chemicals. I use all natural products in my home. Thanks!

If you have proper ventilation you can use Lysol full strength. Allow to dry completely and apply your insecticide. Allow to dry completely before adding birds. Remember to remove as much fecal material as possible before doing anything.

Quote: Use bleach, not Lysol. Bleach kills everything. check around BYC for the dilution ratio. per your Hubby, Yeah, 7 week olds belong outside.

bleach and the smell will dissipate within a day or 2
I know what you mean I have 8 week olds inside right now because their original coop blew away while it was being built due to 75mph straight line winds, but DH is building the new one and is almost done so they can go back outside. They do go in the tractor during the day though.

They are still in the house because it is still freezing here at night. Also because it has been so cold it has put off building the coop. My DH has spent countless hours out in the snow and rain till way after dark preparing the land where the coop/run will go. Now the land is finally ready.
