im guilty of the latter. after hanging it i spent about 20 minutes putting them on just so they’d be somewhat accustomed to itI love it, but it looks like someone who matters loves it even more! (unless she was posed there as a prop for you to show off your handiwork!)
as soon as i hung it i said “this needs to be wider”I made ours out of a chunk of 2x12 I had laying around (scrap from my step father). It's about 20" long, so I just attached some anchor things in the corners and ran a rope through them. It's big enough that 3-4 gals can be on it at a time...it also holds my 6 1/2 year old daughter when she wants to hang out with the chickens, lol. She sits "criss cross" on it and the gals jump in her lap for a little swing ride. Most days, the chickens ignore it, but they do use it occasionally.
If you have the spare rope, start it lower to the ground and raise it up as they start using it too.im guilty of the latter. after hanging it i spent about 20 minutes putting them on just so they’d be somewhat accustomed to it
i think tomorrow i’ll leave a bunch of treats on the swing and see if any of the braver ones fly up to check it out
