I believe a dog bit her two days ago. Csught her for inspection. Stinks a bit. Flys, and looks like lots of maggots? What should I do please, thank you.

it's on her back. Have video but not sure how to post video.

Thanks, basically says to clean it and use Veterycin. Wondering what to kill the maggots with tho?

I wash them over and over because new eggs will hatch after you've cleaned out the maggots.

I will dust them (heavy) with diatomaceous earth each time I wash, if there are maggots you did not spot, it coats them and the can't feed on her flesh.

Sometimes the DE will absorb the humidity in the freshly washed feathers and make little clumps. Not a problem, it makes the feathers more dry that makes it a bad environment for the maggots and easier for her skin to heal

Of all the problems this is the one I dread the most. Watching a hen being eaten alive by some nasty little bug is terrible.

Both you and her are in my prayers.

Cardboard box and hay?
Anything that keeps her safe, she is unlikely to want to walk around, but sometimes you need to put them in a closed room where they can't crawl into an inaccessible place to hide.

I leave a light on when I bring them into an unfamiliar area, they don't see well in the dark and worry about predators.
