Maggots? What to do?

I bought this stuff. Hopefully I can find my DE at home. Otherwise I'll go back out

(I know it sounds crazy) but... If you don't have diatomaceous earth on hand, flour would dry out the wound but would need more rinsing (and be messy-er) on you... but in a pinch....

I don't know if baking soda burns the skin... so I hesitate to suggest it

You just want to keep them in a dry medium so they can't get at her flesh.

Picked out a ton, as many as I could until she couldn't take it. She threw up.

Sprayed with that stuff and put DE on it.

Next issue is the injury. Bones are showing.

Should I euthanize her?

Won't the DE kill the maggots and dry things up? I didn't see neosporn at the farm store. And it was a big wound i wanted to spray stuff in, I should have got some.
Nope, it won't do a thing. You gind neosporin at the grocery store, also sprays. But it's probably all the same stuff.
Did you try the soap water method for removing the maggots or just tweezers?
Considering the stage of the wounds, I'd personally just put her down, I'm sorry.
Dog bite wounds, especially deep ones need specific care right away, plus all the stress and infections. It's for the best, I know it sucks.

I mean with bones showing, the poor thing.

Everyone agrees put it down?

If so, how?
Shotgun?

A hatchet or a small caliber pistol is sufficient. I'm very sorry.
If this type of wound happens again,
the wound needed to be kept clean and moist. A saline rinse or just warm water to clean it then an Anibiotic ointment or spray on it. Don't use peroxide if there are bones showing.
Keep inside and monitor for infection.
I'd order some fish amoxacillian to keep for the future to treat future bites.
