Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

AllCoop'dUp :

Can I join but not have my eggs hatch until Wednesday after Easter? Grandkids coming for a visit and I want them to watch the hatch. Won't be here till Monday or Tuesday. I'll be hatching both chicks and ducklings.

The more the merrier! You'll be our "late hatcher"

Caught up once again.

Well they are predicting rain for Saturday. I guess I should be happy as my garden is really starting to grow and the moisture will do it some good.

I'm trying to get rid of/sell some roos this weekend. I put up an add on CL.... I may just end up taking them to a feed store, I don't know. I know I'm keeping my Wheaten Marans and the best looking BW Ameraucana, but the Olive Egger, 2 Wheaten Ams, 1 BW Am, and 5 FBCMs have got to go.

I'll even be selling a couple of my BCM pullets but they won't be cheap!

Love all the egg pics and the banter...

Here's hoping everyone has a fantastic weekend..

What where You thinking on the pullets?

The R-COM 20 incubator I ordered from jmt STILL isn't here! After numerous e-mails they finally gave me a tracking number - seems they "forgot" about the order.

So I'm going to have to sit this hatch out but will be watching and enjoying the rest of your hatches. Best of luck to you all and I can't wait to read all about your updates!

WoofMeowCluck: It won't be here by April 2nd?? I would ask they use express shipping or something, since they forgot the order!!!! I would actually demand it cause that is how I am!

Ok, I admit..

I have been getting really jealous hearing about how SOME ppl are planting and growing stuff in their gardens, meanwhile we're kinda having a blizzard here today

But I found something to lift my spirits! We have wild rabbits and every morning they leave tons of tracks all over the yard. I was out back checking on my test sap bucket (nope, not running) and saw the cute bunny trail (cotton tail...yes, the song is stuck in my head) and humongous dog like prints (really big, palm size). The dog like prints moved on, but the bunny went over to my back garden plot. In there I had kale planted and never did tear out the plants.

Well, the bunny found the kale! It ate a couple plants right to the stalk, and there are about 5 more plants still for it to eat. But the crazy part is, they're growing!! They're green and flexible, poking up through the snow. I kinda like that the bunny is eating it, but I wonder if it will just continue on growing in the spring if it doesn't eat it all.

Whoda thunk my first green plant would be kale.

Tried to get the chickies to come over and take a bite but there was snow see...lol.
