Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

If it's not here by then I'm getting in the car and going to visit them! I did demand to talk to the Supervisor (via e-mail) there is no phone number. All e-mails were written in "text" languare (RU ordering?) Anyway, now they won't answer my e-mails. If they had just admitted they forgot about the order their honesty would have gone a long way. But blaming another company and ignoring my e-mails and not giving tracking number, well, it just made me PO'd. If I'm to believe them this time, the bator is on it's way so there would be no way to change the shipping method.

OH, I must have misread, I thought the hatch started on March 1st - duh, I had better be able to get in on the hatch if it starts on April 2nd!!

I think I have to take some time this weekend and read this thread from start to finish, if for no other reasons than to get to know you all better

We have a whole month left till our hatch begins and we've already generated over 100 pages. WOW, you guys talk A LOT!!!!

Keep it up, happy hatching!

I did a "quickie" candling check on my eggs in the bator this morning (couldn't take it any longer, had to check on them

) and it is looking good! I even think my one EE egg is developing! So excited to see what that chick might look like. I am going to wait until day ten to do a full candling so that I can pull the clears and get the stacked eggs down in the tray. I did get the Spot Check thermometer the other day and just as I suspected the bator was running cool at the tops of the eggs so I have bumped up the temp so that it is around 99.6 at the tops.

Oh yes, I need to candle the eggs in the bator to make room for ones that are on-hold. Didn't have any luck selling my OEGB, silkie, and jap eggs, so looks like I'll have to set those

I had no idea kale would winter over.
I too got jealous of those people posting of their planting; I bought a bag of oats to sprout, then decided to throw some sprouts in a couple of hanging baskets on my shower curtain rod under a skylight in the bathroom.

Every few days my chickens get a few seconds of grazing on oat grass.

You want to know us better?! We haven't scared you off yet? That's it... you're in the group. Officially. Actually I'm probably not in the group yet so I can't invite you but... really, you still want to get to know us? Have you taken your medication lately?

Blizzard here today... can we make one of the contests a "find the road" one?

Wow all that white!

I had a dentist appointment this morning about 5 cities away and in spots there and back there was zero visibility with this rain storm we had. Supposed to rain again tonight and tomorrow. Went out back and my dingy Marans were out bathing in cold windy puddles. Man I hope they don't get sick on me. You would have thought I owned ducks the way they were acting.

Michelle please don't run and hide after you finish reading. Some of us are sane. Don't know who, but gotta be a couple in a group this size.

You ever want to meet people and have fun though, you can't go wrong with a Mahonri hatch! Always great to try to keep up with. Hard to do, but if you need cheered up, this is the place.
