Hi Everyone I Am Sorry For Having Another Question I Have 23 Eggs That Will Be On Day 15 At Midnight But We Have Bad Weather On The Way The Lights Have Already Flickered Several Times What Can I Do To Keep My Eggs Safe If The Power Goes Out Where I Live We Usually Get Power Back On With In 4 Hrs But I Still Need To Know What I Can Do To Keep My Eggs Viable If The Light Go Out I Know I Worry To Much Not Only I Have Been Waiting For Them To Hatch But Also My Kids And I Really Do Not Want Them To Get Upset If I Can Help It

Wrap the incubator with a blanket or quilt if the lights go out to help keep the heat in.

Also, how many eggs are in the bator and what kind of bator do you have? If the bator is not full it wouldn't hurt to put some 'heat sinks' in it to help keep temp. You can use clean rocks or bricks, small jars (with lids) filled with water, or zipper baggies filled with water.

True Ameraucanas are only supposed to lay a blue egg, in varying shades of blue. The brighter blue the better.

i have only 23 eggs in a hovabator i have another question but it does not pertain to incubation today we found a hidden nest in the woods filled with 19 eggs i do not see any development and they have been there for 4 to 7 days are they safe to eat or should i throw them away i was wondering why i was not getting any white eggs now i know why they lay and leave the nest so i do not think they are trying to hatch them

They should be okay to eat, just crack them in a cup or something before cooking them. If the yolk is runny then dump it out.

Haa haa DS's bantam Cochin hen laid an egg about every 18 hours her first season, so sometimes it WAS 2 per day. (She lives by herself, so I know they all came from her).
