Still catching up and dredging up old quotes but...

I have 2 styro bators - they hold about a total of 90 eggs combined. I am pricing a new Brinsea. May I be in the support group too? Please?

Ahem, I have an Aussie built styro 'bator that can hold 100+ if I hand turn them and a Hover-Bator... so 'theoretically' I can set 50+ a week using the Hover as a hatcher.

Planning to put this 'theory' into action this spring.

*Go to plan brooder space, and pens, and pens, and pens.... better sell some chicks or I'll be drowning in them!

Thanks to everyone who answered my question on combining different aged chicks.

I'm not as worried now. I just can't stop myself from ordering more eggs and hatching and hatching and hatching. Those babies have to go somewhere!

Welcome!

13 more hatchers and we'll equal the number we had at New Years... I figured we've have many more by now... I guess a lot are simply hatching on their own and not waiting for Easter.

I'm sure they'll join us Mahonri, how could they not?

As for the 'not waiting for Easter' bit, I think all the hatchaholics are just squeezing in another hatch before Easter.

You are probably right.

I sold another Marans pullet today to a couple from Tempe.

They were so excited. Wish I could have talked them into a roo!

Got 10 eggs today... best one day total in almost a year!

It was so warm today.

I had to water my garden.

There are a couple of ladies we know and love here on BYC that seem to always be running out of room in their multiple incubators. Even with the advanced stacking techniques employed, it seems to me that they are being hampered in their pursuit of True Chicken Math... So today I found the solution to their predicament... Here's a couple of incubators & hatchers that should I think be able to handle even Linda's needs..

FOR SALE – Poultry incubators (setter) and hatchers. The Buckeye Streamliner model 66 setter has a total setting capacity of 56,160 eggs in 360 trays. The Model 66 hatcher has 60 deep trays with a total capacity of 9,260 chicks. The incubator and hatcher have fully automatic controls handling temperature, humidity, ventilation and egg turning (setter only). I have two incubators and two hatchers available. These units are ideal for hatching chickens, turkeys, ducks, or game girds. The incubator is approximately 10.5’ X 9’ X 15’ and the hatcher is 9’ X 7’ X 4.5’. These fully functional units were used in a large commercial hatchery operation but have not been used for the past twenty years. Similar units are selling for $15,000, however, I am willing to sell them for $5,000. Instruction information will be included.
