Wow....I'm 20 pages behind.

Thought I'd update before catching up since it will probably take me forever.

I've been busy helping my husband build our new chicken coop and it has taken for ever just to get the frame up. Of course we had 4 little ones helping out and were being taught measuring, hammering, drilling, etc... Then I have a husband who is 37 going on 15 so a lot of playing with the little ones and racing my 14 yr old up a tree (the 14 yr old won). Our daughter also had dance competitions this weekend. Her team won second place...Woohoo!!!

So I guess we will spend the rest of the week working on the chicken coop. It is getting too hot in the garage for our chickens as our days get hotter.

On chickie news.... We had to put the "saved" chick to sleep. It was suffering. It had severely deformed legs and feet and could not walk.

We still have 6 beautiful and healthy FBCMs left. Then we locked down on Thursday, the 17th on 24 BBS Ameraucana eggs. We never candled them so they all went in. Tonight is day 21 and they started hatching yesterday. We went to bed with 7 chicks in the bator and 3 pipped. We woke up to, I believe, 17 chicks this morning. They were real hard to count so I just counted how many eggs were left. I now have 19 out of 24 out and still some eggs pipped.

for a 100% hatch.

On the sad note....My addiction is getting worse.

I was only going to hatch my own chickens eggs for the Easter Egg Hatch, but I am now considering adding some Buff Orpintons to the mix.

So..... If anyone on here has some Buff Orpington hatching eggs for sale and can get them to me by April 1st, PLEASE PM me.
