I always hatched my buttons in a chicken egg carton on their sides, but have hatched in quail cartons to.

I prefer to hatch in chicken egg cartons so once they hatch they can't get into trouble!!

That's what they're in and the egg is zipping!

It's the only blue one I have. The rest are the regular splotchy browie ones. LOL

I hope the carton keeps them on one place for a while.

They're due the 1st! Early April Fools!

This is good though since I have a hatch due the 3rd too. LOL

How old are they? Have you trimmed the feathers around their vents? Orps are fluffy enough to usually need that I believe.

I am just hoping my eggs are fertile. I'm setting everything that's been laid and I will still just scrape in with 20 eggs. (I hope, need an egg each day at least

) I'll be sad if they aren't fertile, I want some babies.

I really want my precious shamo and silkie eggs to hatch, but the prize of doing a bad job hatching is tempting to ruin my hatch!!! LOL

Went out to check the coops and Kayla found a BCM egg on the patio. What's going on with my birds? Either they jam into one box or they lay all over the place.

But I'm up to 9 eggs and 2 days to go. Three if they lay early enough.

And my little quail is almost completely zipped! One or two more pecks.

Monday I found out that Wayne's eggs were on the way. Today I got a call from Jean that her eggs went out and today I got some eggs. As I unwrapped them I noticed they were not blue, thinking they were Wayne's eggs, but brown. I looked at the return address and they were the Buckeye eggs from jenjscott!!

Thanks Jen!!

They are not part of the Easter hatch but I candled the Icelandics in the bator and I have 14 developing, there were 2 clears and 1 blood ring. I think they are doing pretty well for shipped eggs. Only 15 days to go till I can see what colors I get
