Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Did a lot of skimming, but finally caught up.

The trip was an hour shorter than Tom Tom's suggested fastest route; although it did eventually recalculate to Ask's quicker route and predicted the same, sooner arrival.

I love the 4, white Ameraucanas; and although the exact combination of Ameraucana eggs were not available, I came home with 4 [instead of 3] dozen hatching eggs. Yotetrapper will get her dozen white Ameraucana; and since I now own the roo and hens, I'll get mine in time.

I've got 9, SQ, LF, Salmon Favorelle eggs; and still not sure what I'm going to do with them.

STOOOP!!1

Do you want a spreadsheet again? and a form for people to fill out?

Thanks, It would make it easier.

All we need is

How many eggs each participant sets

then How many I will hatch and the first three breeds out.

And then if there are guesses for other contests... contest heads, let Laree know.

Thanks..

Once I get the URL I'll post it in Post #1 and SCG can put it on her daily contest hatch updates

See y'all in about 2.5 hours... off to teach Principios del Evangelio.

she was on all day when i was outside and she got off the nest she pooped and it looked to be the size of a tennis ball did i do something wrong by cleaning her box because it was very nasty and i want to make sure she had a nice clean place to hatch her eggs. before she got off the box she made an alarming sound like something was trying to kill her. she will not let the rooster touch her at all

Will do after dinner and dishes. See ya soon.

While locking up the coops tonight I came to realization that I do, in fact, have 3 broodies, not including the 2 silkie mamas that have already hatched. I kept telling myself for the past couple days that they were just on the nest for quite awhile. In denial, ya know.

Broody #1 is a BCM that I broke broody x 2 in the past month.
Broody #2 is a Light Sussex (split to Coronation) .... a very big girl.
Broody #3 is a BLRW who has been sitting for a few days; the one I knew was broody.

SOOOOOOO, I am thinking I will wait until Saturday and give them some eggs, for the Easter Hatch-a-thon. I need to build another Nella-Brooder Coop. They are so nice. Easy and versatile. I have 2 and use them as brooders on top, and for broodies on the lower level.

NC - I candled the White AM eggs I got from you, and only one out of 6 wasn't fertile!! I think another one died, but left it end for now. The other 3 are looking good!!

Honestly my last flock of BOs were from a Hatchery and were the sweetest chickens I had. I regret getting rid of them.

They did go to a good home though and starting all over isn't that bad. For now I don't have to worry about chicken math and can just hatch without thinking twice about it.
