Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

I just can't believe how hot it is here and how cold it is there! I'm pretty sure it hit 90 before the clouds started rolling in, and high humidity made it worse. There's a nice breeze and that helps; but the room my bators is in was 89 when I got home. I will not be surprized if we get some severe storms tonight following this freakishly high temperature. I think I remember seeing warnings issued; and a prediction for tomorrow that means the furnace will be running instead of the airconditioner.

I put the airconditioner in the window and readjusted the wafers on the bators; they were only running about a half degree too high, so my guesstimate at where to set them before leaving was not too bad. I hate to whine, but man, the area below my ribs hurts so bad from the coughing that I could barly stand to drive, let alone carry the dog food and lift that airconditioning unit! I've been through three rounds of antibiotics and one of antivirals; and still coughing up more crap than seems possible for my body to even produce. [At least I'm not passing out anymore.] I had to buy some groceries and people were staring at me because I was wearing that breathing mask; but then quit staring and switched lanes when I had a coughing fit in the checkout, right after explaining I was wearing it because I had the flu.

Well, I just ordered a Genesis 1588 from Cutler. Last night I had a dozen BLRW eggs I wanted to add to the incubator and my husband actually said, "looks like you NEED another incubator." I just looked at him and said, yeah? Then I explained how 10 of the eggs in the Brinsea were going to go into lock down Monday night so I'd have to take the extra eggs I had added back out and put them back into the already full Hovabator. Then, he repeated "I guess you REALLY NEED another incubator." So I bought one. He's such an enabler.

I wish mine was, if I mention eggs, chickens, feathers, coops, incubators or building/fencing, you can see his eyes just glaze over and the words 'Rhubarb Rhubarb, Rhubarb' repeating in his head.

Although he did drive me two hours each way today to get five new chicks, bless him.

Edited for diabolical spelling.
