That is hilarious! Good eye!
Thank you for the feedback. I hope some of these eggs hatch, and if this does, boy or girl, I will certainly name it Charlotte.

I'll have to candle again next week and see if there is a new message.

sorry quys been away for a few days. I am not sure if my question was answered while i was gone or not. I have a 8 by 10 coop and a 16 by 16 run for them when we are not home but when we are whick is almost everyday since i am a stay at home mom they have free roam of 4 acres of land. I already have 17 in the coop som LF and some Bantams. I have 12 4 weeks old LF chicks and 6 bantam chicks about a week old. will i be able to put at least 6 of the LF chicks in the old coop so when we finish the new coop then the other 6 LF and the 6 Bantams can go in it. then finish filling up the second coop with bantams. will they fit comfortably. there food and water is off the ground and we have 35 feet of roost space in the first one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have only had chickens for a year. what i can find out on the internet is that some recommend 3 sq ft a bird and others 4 sq ft a bird which will be best.

I don't yet know from experience, but the recommendation I most commonly see is a minimum of 4 square feet per LF bird in the coop PLUS 10 square feet per bird of run. If you have the flexibility, I think 4 or more square feet per LF bird would be best in your coop and maybe 3 square feet per banty.

Your 8x10 coop is 80 square feet, so 20 LF birds would have 4 square feet of room each. Then all of your banties will be in the new coop? I'm not sure I understood completely, but it sounds exciting. Be sure to post pictures when it's done!

Alrighty then.... just got caught up.

I'm really feeling like a nap just about now.

Keep making yur guesses... I'll keep posting... when the nap is over.

I am bushed.

Moved about 2 cords of wood today and stacked it. Then boyfriend and I put in another inground raised bed.

Went out to the coop a few minutes ago and banty hatched 2 chicks a day early!! She's hatched out phoenix x nn and speckled sussex x nn. There's still an ee x nn in there. Both chicks were fully feathered. And banty is still as mean as ever. I'll get you a picture, marathon!

And no one else has submitted a strange place chickens lay photo? What is the problem? Do your chickens need inspiration?!

Here you go, courtesy of incognito banty:

And now I KNOW some of your chickens lay their eggs conveniently right in your incubators...
