Wow, - so much pipping and zipping! I didn't think I would catch up.

Yikes chickhick! That sound like a nightmare, - I hope it works out.

Congratulations ChestnutRidge! It was my first hatch too, - very exciting and nerve-wracking. Addicting too, -I've already got 23 more eggs in the incubator!

And, to whoever is in charge of technology (SCG?), am I supposed to add my cutest chick photo to the page somehow, or is someone else doing that for everyone? I'd like to submit the photo in post #5918 (page 592), but will need instruction if I am supposed to add it to the link.

Ok. I only have 30 pages to catch up on but wanted to give a quick update. I've got 2 chicks!!!!

One black silkie and one salmon faveroles. I also have 4 more pips on my faverolles eggs!!! No signs of life from the ameraucanas tho.

so 2 out. 4 piped and 5 nada

My first BCM (although I'm worried because this one is bleeding a bit ... vigourous, but there is blood) ....

I HATE watching them when they first come out of the shell. They flail and flop and scream. Like a fish out of water. NOT fun!

The black or lavender markings are never present at hatch.................. but I'll get pics later anyway.

One of the "Hershy" colored OE eggs from Kathy that were too dark to candle has pipped, I had no clue if they had developed or not. Here's a pic of them taken before setting; they're the 4 darkest in the turner, and I bet most Marans owners would love to see their pures laying eggs this "olive" color.
