The black or lavender markings are never present at hatch.................. but I'll get pics later anyway.
One of the "Hershy" colored OE eggs from Kathy that were too dark to candle has pipped, I had no clue if they had developed or not. Here's a pic of them taken before setting; they're the 4 darkest in the turner, and I bet most Marans owners would love to see their pures laying eggs this "olive" color.

How true and listening helps a lot too. I think the biggest thing I have learned on this hatch is how high I have to get my humidity up for lockdown. I want to thank Chookschick for that wisdom.

I have had no luck fixing that but if you post in the Injuries and Illness forum you are likely to find advice. Yu can also search slipped tendon and find a lot of information.
Yup, I still have eggs. Just eggs. Pretty darned warm ones, about 99.5, but that's it.
However, I do have a new broody hen: Blue Australorp. She's taken over the big kitty litter nest box on the back porch, the favorite-est one. I suspected it yesterday, now I am sure. I'm leaving the eggs under her this time; I pulled four eggs out yesterday (because I don't usually disturb the ladies IN the nest boxes - I give 'em time to decide to come back outside), but there are two under her right now.
Other progress: all six of Angel's chicks have learned how to make it up the steep, two foot ramp back into the coop!

Great pics and love that your DH is sooo helpful!! I love what you did for a brooder with the trailer! I have one of these that met it's "end" when "someone" forgot it was hooked to the pick-up and backed over it. The wheels were wrecked but the basket part is in the barn.....soon to be a brooder, THANKS for the idea!! You two rock!!
