Allie (the two year old) has a great personality. She is the first one to come up to you. God forbid you are trying to get anything done on the fence when they are turned out. She will pester you and will try to "help" by picking up my bag of tools. I am sure she would run away with them if I don't snag them from her fast enough. She is so easily trained and has the most wonderful floating trot. She is also the reason my fences had to be at least 5' tall. When she was 4 1/2 months old she almost cleared a 4 to 5' fence with only about 10' of running space. Her sire is Atlantis. He was imported from Germany and is one of very few approved breeding stallions in the states. Yup I can go on and on about how wonderful Knabs are.

So, how many miracles did you end up with?

Yes I was wondering the same thing????

Sorry about the tree - but I will confess I had difficulty even noticing the tree I was gazing so at the chickens. The chickens are gorgeous!

Ha! Thanks. We will be seperating more of them out soon into breeding pens. The Giant Cochins are a pair that we won in a raffle at a poultry show. DH bought us a bunch of tickets. My three girls and I each put tickets in for different pairs and we ALL wound up winning. It was hysterical. We came home with 11 new chickens that day.

Sorry to hear the eggs didn't make it.. I would not allow her to sit for another 3 weeks.. Being broody is hard on them... I would either break her broodiness or get a few day old chicks to put under her...

If you see anything in my sig that you like I'll trade ya!

What kind of quail do you have? I have the possibility of black tailed white, black, barred and frizzled.

Think you could send some of those my way? I have Coturnix, both brown and tibetan. I also have some cash.

AURRRGH! I don't know what kind of eggs to buy for the hatch! I'm thinking a heritage breed. Can anyone help, please, I'm making myself nuts!

Maybe you should talk Kathyinmo into releasing some of her eggs from those tightly gripped hands
