My broody hatched 3 of her 4 eggs on easter morning. Good work Lauretta!

Of my eggs 4 hatched yesterday, 4-26 and 1 hatched this morning, 4-27. Of the eggs that hatched I had one pink chick, one green chick, and two blue chicks hatch. Did I mention that I colored them in the shell? I'll post pics when I can, but for now nothing will upload. They really did hatch out colored!

The duck eggs are still going, but those were set a day late.

In other news, looks like I don't have to wait for the groundhog to eat my garden this year. I put some pumpkin seedlings in the window today to start the hardening off process and the cat munched on them. Lucky I caught her early.

Post how many you will have cooking by Monday 04 April 2011 and then don't go back and edit your post where you tell us how many eggs you start with. I have about 4-5 people already asking me and I'll say the same - She's not laying now, or if she is, it is in a secret stash somewhere in the barn (which even if it was so, why not the secret stash my other two "feral" hens are using?) - So sorry, but no. I will keep you in mind when she starts again though!

I'm so glad the world is green again. Looking at these old photos it's just butt-ugly in the fall and winter when everything is some varying shade of mulch.
