Awwww my little leghorn started "crowing" this morning. Right on the roost. I was trying to get pictures of him for a Craigslist sale and I think he was telling me that he wants to stay.
I have two of the four cockerels crowing from the NYD hatch. Just realized yesterday that two of them are crowing. I thought it was only one of them until I was carrying around the one I know is crowing. He thought he could put his big boy pants on yesterday and challenge me. After a short chase around the pen, I caught him and we had a "discussion" about that behavior. He looked rather insulted after I carried him around for a bit. While I was carrying him, I heard crowing from their pen and sure enough the other EE son of my rooster was crowing. When I put the bad boy back in the pen I swear I saw the other crower laughing at him.
DH's son is coming to visit next week and we are going to butcher a couple of the roos from that hatch and I know who is first on the list.
Glad to see this thread still going. My babies are growing like mad, so cute. I've got a question about broodies. Got 2 bantams sharing the chores of sitting on 1 full size egg. They are currently in the nest box due to hatch around the 15th. Should I leave them in there or should I move them to something down on the floor. Thanks
You know what's funny? I didn't even catch that Craptastic was the wrong name until pointed out. My brain figured it knew who it meant, why alert to that?
