Plan?

Every time I make chick plans I end up with way more or way less, finally learned to just go along for the ride when hatching

Exactly. Hence that "don't count your chicks before they hatch" saying. I got all excited because I finally have a broody. Apparently the poor thing is retarded. She won't get off the nest but instinct seems to have forgotten to tell her the eggs should be under her.

well out of 43 eggs i recieved all but 13 were scrambled did not know that till after incubating them for a while and saw no development in them so i cracked them and they were all scrambled of the 13 i have 4 silkies , 2 milies, 1 americauna X maran and 6 lavender split americaunas left

What day were they on? I candle on day 7 but don't throw anything out until day 10. I have thought somee were scrambled but it was just the way the yolk was in the egg.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having trouble.

day 7 i could see veining in the 13 but the others were clear and did not look right when i candled them so i took them out and they were all scrambled i did leave 5 of them in the incubator ( the other silkie eggs) just to see what the do but as of now they show no signs of development. when i cracked the other 25 eggs they were scrambled maybe that is why when i candled them i did not see the outline of a yolk floating around.

My cattle dog made a serious effort to scramble my last batch of shipped eggs, leapt full blast into the car and sent the box - fresh from the PO - flying. Still managed to hatch out half. That dog is crazy!

What day did you set them??? Are these the eggs you set on April 30 that you won? I was thinking you were only on about day 5 or so today, which would be really early to candle. Sorry you are not having good luck.

I would let the others just sit for a while in the incubator and see how they look in a week.

i am sorry it is day 5 but the 13 i know that are developing you can already see the veining in them but the others nothing in the 13 you can see the little red blob which is the chick and in the light colored eggs you can see what looks like the heart beating

I just didn't want you to throw out eggs too early, I have done that before and always wondered if they would of made it. I have also had eggs that I thought were clear and I gave them a few more days and by day 10 they had veins and were growing. I sure hope your remaining 13 hatch for you.
