Sorry your girls won't lay Mahonri. I keep hearing about people's troubles with broodies and it's starting to worry me.
I picked broody breeds because I didn't think I'd be getting an incubator let alone two of them. Now I'm wondering if I might be in for some frustrations. I did always plan to put them in separate broody accom (because my old timer friend told me I couldn't/shouldn't leave them in the main pen) so I shouldn't have them returning to the wrong nest at least.
I'm hoping my first eggs aren't to far away, I have some girl's combs and wattles starting to look pinker than others so now I'm wondering how long it takes to go from pink to nice and red and laying.
Checked the calender and they are 17wo on Sunday.
