Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Well we narrowly escaped disaster today! We had horrible winds all day and it took down a tree in the big run out back. Thank goodness the fence held it up and didn't let the tree squash my polish in their runs! DH came home and broke out the chain saw and took care of it. I tried, but for the life of me could not start the dang thing................................Because it was out of gas!

Beautiful horses. I miss mine, but just not enough time now.

Tricia, I am so glad it was not worse.

Sorry everyone, I am getting slammed enough between work, classes(homework), and getting household chores done, that I just am not able to do much more than try to keep up and very little posting.

well at midnight tonight my first hatch in my new incubator will be seven days old there are 24 eggs total i went on and candeled them now because i have to get to bed early and 23 of 24 had veains and movement in them you could see the little eye i will give the 24th egg a few more days just incase it is slower than the other before throwing it out i believe that egg got scrambled but still going to give it a chance if not. my fist three eggs to incubate in the little 10 dollar ufo looking incubator just went into lockdown they all have chicks in them i just hope the temp spike did not hurt them not sure ho long it read 102 before noticing it an the humidity got a little high as wee at midnight it will mark 20 days for them when should i see the first pip.

I am so sorry to hear this, Mahroni!

Tax stuff just sucks. Big time. I am still smarting over some mistakes I made 3 years ago. But remember: it is ONLY money. It is survivable. Yah, it's painful, but it isn't illness, it isn't catastrophe. It's just money. That's what I tell myself, anyway.

If you are lucky like me, they'll pip tomorrow.

My hen had been off of the eggs for at least 4 hours and they were cold when I put her back on them, but it looks like I'll get three of 7. My one Amerauana came out of a LARGE blue egg. I'm so hoping that it will be Blue Wheaten and Pullet. I'm probably asking too much.

This weather here has been HORRIBLE. (Apologies to those in the midwest and on the east coast; this sucks for California.)

I am so glad that fence held up the tree, Nosey! Your flock is CUTE.

If you see anything in my sig that you like I'll trade ya!

What kind of quail do you have? I have the possibility of black tailed white, black, barred and frizzled.
