Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

I had a broody little easter egger that behaved like that. I stuck her in a cage up off the ground with nothing in the floor of it but wire and her feed and water cups. Three days and she was over it. But she laid a very short while before she was at it again. Some just have that tendency, I guess. I would have given her eggs to hatch, but she would get pushed off the nest by more dominant hens since she was low on the totem poll. They would peck on her head as she sat in the nest puffed up and growling. I don't have her anymore; she was a goofy little thing.

I noticed from the date stamp on your photo that you must have used that time machine I saw on the craigslist thread... If you could go back and fix a couple of things for me, I'd be happy to hatch them for you.. Or if you don't have time, I'll still hatch them just send them up!!

I have 2 incubators (even though they are bursting at the seams) and 3 broody chicken hens (though they'd be bursting if that were possible)....either way, you could always send them to me!

OK, caught up.

After work today I spent time getting ready for the RAIN.

Load o' Messy, look what is coming!

In the morning I drill, fill and bill, then I've got to get the frame on my glasses fixed, car fixed, yard trimmed before the rain hits... (I know that won't happen, but it was on the jobs list from DW),,, then I've got to put the finishing touches on my Sunday School lesson (Sermon on the Mount)

Last night we picked up the two kids from Germany that will be staying with us until the 1st of March and then the in-laws get here on Thursday and they'll be staying with us until the 1st also. I love them all, I'm just going to be living in Grand Central Station.

The lunch lady over at the school, dropped by with a bunch of food that was on the edge and wondered if I'd want it for my chickens... (they can all hear my roos over there all day...

) DW graciously accepted and gave her a dozen eggs. I may have help on my feed bill now! And my birds LOVED all of those cherry tomatoes!, cut up apples and whole wheat hot dog buns.

I don't know what woke me but I've got to get back in bed. I need to get rested up because MONDAY will be crazy at the office. Everyone seems to thing that when they don't have work or school, they have to get into the dental office.... I'm double booked both morning and afternoon, I'm actually hoping I get a few cancellations.

Have a great weekend y'all.
