Wooot!! Thats awesome, congrats!!

And I love the pic of the goats, we're hoping to get our first two pretty soon.

So I have a couple pics to share. Mostly because they make me feel good and I have a chick pipping at the wrong end and am not sure what to do, if anything

If you look close, you can see my single chick in there.

And my silly wrong end pipper, who I did hear peeping. Do I help? It pipped early...I just don't know. I also posted in my own seperate thread about it.

It's 12 inches and a tad wide (the stand and power cord adds just about a quarter inch) and 8 inches deep. I'll let you know how many when this hatch is done.

I squeezed it into a 12 inch deep wooden drawer, at the end, so it takes up 8 inches of the drawer. Brinsea recommends space on at least one end but I'm a risk taker. Food and water is at the far end of the drawer and the chicks come out to go drink and eat and do chicky things. I bet 15 chicks will use it easily. If not 20. They will sleep under it just like they do with momma, packed in together. The rest of the time they go in and out, going back to warm up, then come out again.

Pictures later, for sure.

Wow I am never going to catch up. My fiancé just brought home another incubator. Its a LG but he was so proud of himself that he got it brand new for $30 that I just couldn't tell him that its the worst one you can buy. I need to stay off eBay as well. I think I had it full before he brought it home. The worst part is I still haven't found any for the Easter hatch.

I know how you feel. DH said he was going to buy me an incubator for Xmas. I showed him exactly what I wanted. This was months before Xmas. In the mean time, one of our dogs killed one of my pullets and my birthday was coming up. He felt so bad for me that he went out and bought an LG and a turner. He had the best intentions, but I had to tell him to take it back to the store and get his money back. I just couldn't let him waste his money on it. I know some people can do great hatches with them, but I wouldn't want to try to do my first hatch with one. They are just so tempermental that I think I would have killed all the eggs. I felt so bad seeing his face when he saw that I was disappointed. He made up for it though, he did get me the one I wanted before Xmas and let me use it early for the NYD hatch. Gotta love him

You should check the BYC auctions....I have seen every breed your locking for on here recently. PM the seller ask them if you can preorder for shipping the last week in March. The ducks...check the duck section. I am getting calls from a BYCer. And OE & BLRW from another.
