Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

I need talking down. I am expecting a trio of Australian Line Light Sussex Juveniles. They are coming from MD to NC Express Mail guaranteed delivery. This is a trip of about 330 miles. They at Dulles airport last night. 250 mile away. Not at my PO this morning and I was told that they had their last truck. Was sent to the web site and 800 number to track the package. No help. Then was given the number to the local Consumer Affairs office, they are celebrating National Consumer Protection Week and are out of the office and I am directed to call the 800 number.

How frustrating! Anything with the USPS can be a pain - I know I work with them on a daily basis. I'm sure they'll be fine.

I love to watch dogs work and they really do enjoy it.

Well, I've got ONE egg in lockdown right now. . . It's a Partridge or Blue Partridge Brahma, and I reeeaaally hope it hatches. Can you believe I had over 2 dozen eggs in the bator in the beginning?

I'm kinda panicking about what to do with just one chick. I've got other chicks around, but they're beyond 4 weeks old. . . .

But, either way, It should have some buddies in 21 days.

This is why I love doing staggered hatches...I have chicks hatching every week, so no one is ever alone for long

I have a question about that. How far apart in ages is it okay to raise them together? I have some a week old in the garage brooder, and I have a batch inside who are 2-3 days old, and next week I have another batch of eggs hatching. Next week can I put these babies in with the others, and then add the new ones when they are about a week old?
