HA! That's a thought. Especially since I now live in a "residential area". We still have land and we're surrounded by farms, but still considered residential in these parts.

Got cheeps and peeps in the incubator today, home laid Marans (blue/cuckoo/gold/silver genes in the mix), the darkest of my eggs were set. So far out, 1 splash, 2 blue, 1 black. These birds have not produced a non-cuckoo yet, so I'm anticipating all will be cuckoo.

The last batch gave me one of these:

(Gold Cuckoo Marans - guessing pullet since the roosters are the splits for gold)

And they've given me this handsome fella from the New Years Day hatchathon:

My lavender ameraucana eggs are in the incubator, 2 dozen beauts, candled only 2 clears, none scrambled or detached air cells, great packing. Can't wait!

Hurley- they are beauties! I have 16 FBCM eggs in our bator now, along with 40 or so "friends" to play with too!
