Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Quote:
I think you should be ok... I have read one university study that cited that no turning ever gave the best hatch rate.. I would just get them in the new turner and keep your fingers crossed.

Mahonri: I hope DD heals up quick and lucky her she has a great dad that can fix her tooth.

NoseyChickens: I am glad DS gets to attend the services for your Dad and that is good news about warranty paying for the tranny. I hope your trip is a safe one and I will be thinking of you.

SCG: Love the Arizona pics! I just live a state away and I am still amazed at the Grand Canyon's beauty!

HAPPY TUESDAY Everyone! This time next week there are going to be hundreds of eggs traveling through the mail to all of us crazy hatchers!

Good morning Mahonri!

Sorry to hear that DD got hurt. Never fun to get that phone call. Glad it wasn't worse. I never would let my kids on those back yard trampolines because they always looked dangerous to me.
SCG now you understand why I want so bad to go back to AZ. The whole state isn't that hot. Where we lived, we were higher in altitude and it doesn't get as hot. It is a "dry heat" which really does make a difference. Someday I will move back. Someday I might take you up on the offer to visit Maine though. I would love to go up there and visit some old childhood friends. I do have to admit, it was a great place to grow up.
NoseyChickens, so glad to hear that you and two of your sons will be able to get to the service. I don't know if you are going to do a military service but we did one for my dad when he passed and even though it was small, it was the best service. You could feel the sincerity in the Honor Guard's thanks for their service.

Good morning dsqard, I think SCG would LOVE Flagstaff.... kinda like Maine, only much nicer in the summer.

Well it's off to work... I don't do well with stress. I hate getting old.

Yeah my duck has been broody on the porch. Soooo this time she is finally staying on her eggs through the night. Maybe I will finally have Easter ducklings.
Also have 2 broody Key West hens.
Flagstaff is pretty. Arizona is such a diverse state you can get pines or desert or about anything in between. No beach though unless you count Big Surf lol. Not sure if that's even still there haha. We used to pretty much snowbird while living in the same state (AZ). Phoenix in the winter and our family cabin at 6700 ft in Prescott in the summer. The worst part of going up to nice cool Prescott in the summer, was coming back down to Phx...it was like returning to hell LOL!

Ah well I have to remind myself it's still only March.

Sold a half dozen EE pullets today and could have sold them 3 times over. Too bad I was actually trying to sell some of the new hatches - no one wants those

I do have some pullets laying though! I got a lovely olive egg and cochin I think. They should all be coming on strong.

Sorry about your DD Mahonri, it's always the active ones that get hurt

Nosey, I'm happy to hear things are working out a bit for you. One less thing to stress you right now.

SCG, awesome pictures! That's the one area of the country I haven't been to yet. Must make a point to get there soon.

Gosh I miss Arizona. Grew up in Casa Grande, grandparents in Phoenix, Aunts in Bisbee and Tucson. Hubby and I vacated there whenever we could before kids, but haven't been back in 10 years. It's a land of its own.

I have to admit, though, I'm glad when we lost our house in '99 to a fire that we didn't move there...I wanted to, but I knew I'd miss the trees and greenery here. It's hotter here in the humidity and the way it feels, and I hate the cold and snow...but I'm a Midwest girl now, I think...

I'll always remember building forts out of tumbleweeds like velcro balls, and the 'horny toads' and gila monsters in the big expanses of dried earth between the roads. It was a very different landscape. The sky is a different kind of blue.

I have owned 2.5 acres in Yucca for 20 years, and I have never even been to it. I keep saying that we will go to Vegas and then go visit my land.

My grandfather purchased it, and when he died he left it to me to finish paying for it. I have looked at it often on Google Earth.
