Yep she's my little Blue. She is a first time mommy, she actually didn't hatch any of the chicks, the bator hatched all but the NN (she came from the feed store and who knows where before there). She's very good with them, I made a step for them to get to the waterer and Blue picks up feed from the feeder and drops it on the ground since the chicks can't reach it. She's great

I have a 2 yr old red cochin too, and after she raised one clutch I got Blue the next year because as chicken math goes 1 is not enough. Even with my 30ish chickens... 1 cochin wasn't enough and blue is so pretty

I almost got a silky this year... they're next on my list

Our 2 blue are very sweet. If I have extra eggs that need incubating, she can have some.

Guys, I'm freaking out!! I have no space in my incubators AT ALL!!!

I have my RCOM double stacked full of Lav Ameraucanas, 3 LGs full of Orps, another full of Chantes and Favs, and one full of Revolutionmama's Sussexes...and NOWHERE TO SET EASTER EGGS!!!!!!

I have one full on lock down right now (hereafter to be call 'confinement,' if you all recall!) but that's the hatcher, and it hasn't a turner. I'm afraid I'm going to have to run out and buy another silly styrofoam box!!!! I don't want to!!!

...but I need to!!!! I've already stolen a tray over at Jenn's in her new Sportsman...so i'm not about to get hers outta my LG, because I'm netting 40+ spaces out of the trade...dangit.

Maybe if I candle Friday I'll clear out some spots. Can't find another used cabinet around here, and it's killing me.

I won't truly know what my bator situation is until I get Kathy's box.

Then I'll know. I'm certainly NOT buying eggs!

Yay more naked necks. I do believe you'll be in love and more will be on the way. I wish my eggs hatched out more than half naked necks but they are hard to get rid of so I guess that's good that only half are nn. I'm getting some nn from muggs hopefully for this hatch too!

Man, hope my new fan gets here soon. The other one made a lot of noise and just sounded sick, so I've ordered another to replace it. Gotta pick up another turner this week, too, as 2 bators will be running for the big event. Hope it warms up this week, my girls cut their egg production by half when it hits freezing. Went freezing again here just in time for me to want to be collecting eggs. Thrrpt. Hope it's more hospitable this week.

Looking at setting around 60 eggs, probably, depending on the laying abilities of the gals this week (and how well those Marans are painting their shells) on how many I'll keep to set of my own. Got 36ish coming this week shipped.

I can't take pictures of MYSELF, silly. I need somebody else to take 'em. But I have managed to get the first two

wrapped in aluminum foil; just 48 or so more to keep 'em all safe.
