I wish I had time to run the contest but, I am so covered up right now that I am afraid I would miss some and would make some people mad at me. Maybe next time I will be able.

Also got to thinking about it. Would be real easy to run 2 similar contest.

Contest 1: Total number of eggs SET. Guesses would have to be in by wednesday at high noon, after all button quails don't set till Thursday. This contest could be a week 1.

Contest 2: Total number of eggs HATCHED. The guesses would have to be in by next Saturday at high noon. This could be a final contest.

I would give a dozen of my Cuckoo Marans eggs including shipping, as a prize for one of the contest.

If you can find someone to run one or both contest. Everyone could participate because all it takes is a WIILLLDDDD guess for both.

I need to change my number of eggs, I actually set a total of 64. That is 24 duck and 40 chicken.

Hi everyone!

I just put 9 eggs under a broody black australorp hen in the coop and I will fill up my incubator later on today!
I've never done a broody hatch (with exception of geese who hatch their own) so I am excited. She has been sitting in the same spot for 3 days. It was perfect timing! She's happy as a clam now that she has eggs under her! (I took them away before because I was not sure she was really going to stick with it but it seems she will.

Well in the nick of time I was able to pick up 8 (no tetris stacking contest for me), beautiful Icelandic eggs. They are set and on their way. Good luck everyone!! Now back to reading....
