Stupid broodies are now occupying 3 of my 9 nesting boxes, one on each level. Once I get some sleep I'm going to tackle this insubordination. But I just don't have the energy to care enough this morning.

And my coop is overfull, I cannot justify putting any eggs/chicks under them. I just can't. I still have 12 eggs coming from Muggs that I want to keep all the pullets from and maybe a rooster. If I had less chicken ADD and could settle on one breed that I could sell easily (cause turkens sure as heck ain't it) I might be able to hatch more but I can't even GIVE these turken suckers away for free.

Those broodies are going to complain, but you know what? Life just isn't fair.



Now I've got to get back to work... 3 more days left in this position! Wahoooooo!

So since the numbers of eggs hatched has gone up, can we change our guess?

I decided I was weak and needed to candle my eggs. Such a bad idea...now i'm depressed. I have two with blood rings, 2 might be developing and the rest look clear. Now, i'm not pulling any but I'd think at 4 days into it I'd see something. This is horrible! I shouldn't have bought the eggs from the sellers that I did. darn ebay. The silkie eggs don't appear to be fertile at all, worst packing job ever. The shamo eggs were super porous to begin with. I may just win the worst hatch rate after all...and I was just joking saying I wanted to just for all the eggs!!

I just sold 7 chickies from my last hatch...I really hope the ones I kept are pullets, since these don't look so well.

Horrible news.. I just got back from volunteering down at the food bank and the two lavs and 2 white ameraucanas that were separated in the brooder are all dead.. I have no idea what happened.. I was only gone 4 hours.. I am just sick...

Well, I have blue wheaton ameracaunas pipping now from wayne meredith. The first one pipped into the fluid and is dead, but I now have 4 more pips so far. Had issues with detached aircells. Should have some chickies when I get home from work tonight. Also have 5 of my own BCM and 4 of my Blue orps in there too.
