Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

While everyone is locking down and hatching, I am setting eggs (due to my stupendous 5% hatch rate last time).
13 olive-eggers from alicefelldown
10 assorted of my own EE roo x Welsummer mostly, a few others

We had eggs for dinner, and 2 of 5 were fertile, so maybe I'll have better luck this time.

Meanwhile, the Lone Ranger, my only hatcher, is VERY lonely. Loud chirping ALL THE TIME, except when you go in and sit with him. He's sweet though, so sitting with him is nice, I just wish he'd sleep a little once in a while. Friday can't come soon enough, - the day he'll get 4 friends from the feed store!

OOOOHHHH do you use a dremel, the hot potato method or do you just twist and pull the outer horn part off? Inquiring minds want to know!

I have one of those trimmers for dog toenails. Like a cross between an electric toothbrush and a dremmel.

This is Burberry, my daughter's silkie we just hatched out. I would like to submit this one for cutest chick pic.

I have replaced all my heat lamps with EcoGlow brooders. I mean, I don't use the lamps any more; I use the brooders. Bought 4, gave one away as a gift. Using all three. They are WONDERFUL!!

Do a search on 'em and find the thread with our reviews......

Ooooh. I am going to have to get one of those. Someday.

Not today. I put a serious dent on the cc today at IKEA. Crippling, even.
