A tree went down just down the street from us. DH and DS is down their helping cutting the tree up. It is partly in the street. A beautiful huge pine.
Man, I was worried I was going to have to move those beautiful eggs into our little truck/suv. So glad that is over. There are shingles from neighbors homes all over the place. They say the winds got up to 90 miles an hr. at times. This is our fist micro burst storm, and the worst one in years.

Well, that's good. So far, he hasn't done anything else. From my checking on him every fifteen minutes or so, it appears that, after the original pip, he nudged the shell maybe 2 more times. Then, nothing for the last hour or so... I need to be more patient. Sigh.

It seems to take such a LONG time! Mine started out with a tiny pip (in the wrong end) and membrane intact. I went to bed to toss and turn, got up at 2 a.m. expecting a chick and nothing had happened. By 9 a.m., I was so worried, since nothing more had happened, but it was still peeping. I went out and did yard work for an hour, and when I came back, there was a tiny new crack. By noon, it was suddenly out.
