Even after all the transfers back and forth from incubator to hatcher, and the low temps due to bulb issues... 3 chicks!!! (And another working on it.) Not a great hatch rate, but at least it is something!

update on my hatch...
nothing yet here, but i am not expecting anything as of yet.

i actually got my eggs in the bator a little later than everyone else. i really don't expect my hatch to start until late sunday-monday.

that is if anything even hatches!
we have had 3 power outages here due to wind. all three lasted several hours.
i have no idea how low the bator temps got. i refused to look!
i also didn't candle prior to lock down.
most of the eggs i set were marans and are too dark to see anyways.

i will be very surprised if i hatch anything!

2 cochin and 2 polish out. 16 eggs left in there doing NOTHING!!!!! Well a couple are rocking. But I'm starting to get nervous now.

A sketchy update just to help us get off of this page...
I've been spring cleaning all day, so I haven't even counted my hatchlings yet.. I did go over and look a little while ago during a break only to discover that one of them had gotten itself wedged between the thermostat and the bator wall somehow.. Poor fellow had been there flailing away for awhile I assume. It had barely any energy at all, so I snatched it out of there and gave it some electrolyte water and a minute later it was dead...

I did notice one more was pipped though, so maybe a few more will hatch while I mop the kitchen!!

Are Easter Eggers considered strong birds? For some reason they are always the first to hatch out for me.
