I think she is going to get tired of telling me! I am adding it to my chicken notebook!

I think the Texas A&M paper says hatch % is really those that were hatchable. Therefore, only YOLKERS and INFERTILE should be removed from the calculation. Their reasoning was somehting like, "If you killed it during incubation, it WAS hatchable at some point."

but Dar said "NoooooOOOoooo."

Seriously though, it is cleaner this way. Less wiggle room. I thought about putting the different variations of hatch % in the spreadsheet, but decided I didn't want to answer a bajillion questions.

Technically, it is not times 100. A % has to be less than 1. Multiplying it by 100 is for pretties, not for truthiliness.

MATH NERDS UNITE!!!!

ZING POW!

...ok, no more coffee for me. I'm gonna go paint a wall.

HMMMMM so by this would a blood ringer count towards "hatchable"? Totally agree that total set for the thread does make it easier.

Unfortunately latex paint has not fun fumes.

Good golly I am a know-it-all today. Maybe I should till the yard too. Work out all this fiestiness.

I've got a little 3 week old that has gradually developed a cross beak that looks very similar to your chick... She seems to be eating, drinking and growing just great. You have to really look for the beak to even pick her out in the brooder. Hopefully you'll have a good layer anyway!!

Thanks BG... My biggest fear is that because of how bad it was when she hatched, it will get much worse.. Although, I am not sure that is possible... On a good note, I found out she LOVES applesauce and when I checked in them this morning, I put her in the feeder and she immediately started pecking at it.. The food is deep enough and she was getting some of the crumble powder I pushed up... She definitely has the will to survive and I'm going to give her a chance... I noticed it's much easier to take drops of water from my finger than it is to get it from the waterer I have in there so I will get a rabbit waterer for her...
