Unfortunately it seems to have leg issues. Hoping it's up and walking in the morning.

Planing to pick up some friends for it tomorrow if it's ok. Will hopefully have a cutest pic entry tomorrow too.

I have one hatch due in 2 weeks and a friend just asked if I would hatch ducks for him. Those take a LONG time. So that would be 2 bators full. Again. Wow. Ugh. Yeah!!!

som,e chicks do next week, turkeys the next, just set red golden pheasants and chickens, and will set 1 more batch thsi weekend. Then I will wait and see. Although I have sevral prjects in mind so, may switch up some roos and keep going on and off all summer.

Couldn't get a good head count, too many chicks popping around in there... I will say it appears more hatched than not so far and I can still see several more pips! I will be opening and grabbing chicks later this after noon.... I can get a decent count then.... just gotta be super fast so I don't drop the humidity too much.... Will update later

I tried to candle, but shell is too dark and I'm not sure what I would be looking for as far as internally pipped.

Two suggestions for you. One is to use two flashlights to candle. One from the bottom and one from the top. I candle this way and get much better results on my green and brown eggs. I don't know if this helps on the really dark brown and olive eggs. What you would be looking for is the beak sticking up into the air cell. The other suggestion, if candling won't work is to check for a pip really carefully. If the egg has not pipped (externally) then pull it out of the bator and put it up to your ear. If the chick has pipped internally you will hear it peeping from inside the egg. Other than that, I am not adventurous enough to do anything else. I know that Chookschick will on occasion, pip the top of the egg to check on the chick.
