Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

I just moved the turkey eggs and Aloha eggs over to the REptipro so I could clean out the Brinsea.

Aloha eggies due on the 6th, turkeys on the 26th.

...But I quick-candled and I dont think any of the shipped turkey eggs are viable.

My bator will hold 300 with a few turners......I can use 3-4 turners and get that many in there (a bunch not on turners)
I must say - I have hatches every week starting today - until end of May. So my bator is full. Well - not really - I have room for more. I think I have a little over 200 in now.

Mostly duck eggs! Not even hatching all for me! Some chicken eggs for a friend, and some duck eggs for DD

Loaded down......I could probably incubate 500 with the cabinet & styrofoams going too

I have 2 Sportsmans, plus a HB and a Brinsea...I just put my eggs in the Hova-Bator in lockdown, and then I have 2 eggs in the Brinsea that the broodies abandon, then I have 1 tray full in the GQF SM and about another half a tray full w/ Pea eggs and OE eggs.

I'm planning on hatching all Summer so...

Cute Easter pics!!!

Great time for a hatch he?

YOU should trying hatching with us in the Easter Hatch next year (instead of the "holiday week" hatch)! ON EASTER!

Shoot, I am still hatching! It is gonna be a long night for me. My Barred Rocks are always a day late and they are now hatching. How can I sleep, ya know?!

Yeah me too but I should be done sometime in the morning. I only have about 6 more to go if they hatch I think I'll be knocking on the high 90's percentage, so far my best hatch of the year. I always do this every year right before I turn the incubator off for the hot weather, I hit on the perfect setting and humidity. I guess I should get me a more up-to-date, fancier model and let it do all the hard work but that would take all the fun out of it though, huh? Anymore hatches at my farm will be under broodies( they can care for them also), till later on in the fall and then it will be project time

Wow!!
I'm jealous!

I'm still hatching, too. I got home from my successful trip to the foothills, looking for a house to buy, and found two more chicks in one incubator, plus another in a different 'bator, AND four Mille Fleur D'Uccles hatchings!

WAHOO!

If anybody want to check out the tale of my house-hunting trip today, head on over to https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6209947#p6209947

I
don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight, but I need to go to bed. Work tomorrow. Darn it. I should have had this Monday off, but I got scheduled for a week long class, instead. Yah, yah, good for work, bad for excited hatcher who put an offer on a house this afternoon.

G'night, all!

Hi all!!

I was not signed up for the Easter hatch but I have been following along. It's been fun! I am happy to report that of the 45 eggs in my 1st rack, 40 made it to lockdown and 38 of those hatched!! pretty cool stuff!! I'll try to upload some pics.
