Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

I was so excited to see all the talk of the EcoGlow on here the other day last week, and after reading the thread on it, I was sold. So, of course, I ordered one and it arrived today! Here are some rather dark pictures of my fuzzy butts snuggling up under the EcoGlow. It is awesome! I mostly got it for safety, but I'm very pleased about the energy savings, and glad it will ease their transition to the day/night cycle outdoors.

I have one hatch due in 2 weeks and a friend just asked if I would hatch ducks for him. Those take a LONG time. So that would be 2 bators full. Again. Wow. Ugh. Yeah!!!

I have 2 incubators full right now

one has 8 fertile goose eggs and one has 42 mostly heritage delaware and some barred rocks.

BY THE WAY!!! ITS LAST CALL FOR BROODY HATCH PIX! GET THEM IN TODAY AND PM ME TO TELL ME WHAT POST IT IS.

The photos are on display. Link in my siggy. If you are not there, you are not entered!

P.S. I can't believe this hatch is over!!!

I started out with 37 eggs that went into lockdown and here are the results:

4 BWA from Pips&Peeps hatched. There were 6 quitters and 2 yolkers.
8 BWA from WMeredith hatched. There were 4 quitters and 4 yolkers.
0 Buckeys hatched. There were 5 quitters and 1 yolker.
1 EE from my coop hatched.
2 died after hatching.

So, started with 44 eggs, 37 went into lockdown and 13 hatched.

ETA - 13 / 44 = 29.5%

I have 2 broodies that have been setting for about 10 days. I think I am gonna tuck these chicks under them and remove their eggs.

Now for the cleanup .....
