So it got up to 52 degrees today so I started building a little coop for a friend of ours that we are turning to the Chook Side...

She's going to have 3 hens and I'm hoping to have everything done in a week so we can deliver it and the 3 pullets next week for her birthday.. I was rather pleased with my efforts today.. got the frame all built, stained & weathersealed. Here's what it looks like so far.. And yes, believe it or not, that is green grass in Idaho!! Our lawns up here get green while it is still cold and snowy, only seems to take a few days of sunshine above freezing and bang.. they're green..

I used to be pretty good at building things, but the old brain isn't working very well.

Eggs are in the mail. Fired off 8 packs of eggs to KVMommy, Countrygirl911, and Lantietx. Half and half split of dark brown eggs (Marans) and blue/greenish eggs (Marans x Ameraucana cross) were shipped. One package got 3 blue eggs, 5 brown because some little fingers got ahold of one of the blue eggs and cracked it. *oop.*

Any guesses as to what kind of chicks these are? First one is a normal chick-2nd is the gimpy chick with the unabsorbed yolk sac- He has no butt and looks like a penguin..hence the name Ping
