Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

None of mine have started laying. I have (from Mahonri):
a BCM henny
a pair of wheaten americaunas
what I believe to be an olive egger
They are getting big and lovely and I will be shouting from the rooftops when they start laying.

Well, a couple of the Josettes (3 white leghorns hatched from Trader Joe's refrigerated, fertile eggs, along with the rooster, TJ) have started laying. And I think Betsy BR hatched with them... She has also JUST begun to lay.

None of the others, yet, though.

Here's the only one not sold from my Easter bunch:

He is the one in the middle: a blue partridge brahma cockerel. I love him but can't keep another one, so he is for sale. I posted my first pic of him online last night and he is sold already!

Oh - and to SteveH (I only just read back a dozen pages) I am absolutely flabbergasted at your loss. What a soul destroying thing to happen. I hope the bug zapper and fans do the trick for the rest of your flock. If I could send you new pure breeds, I would.

Would love to see pics....

My Olive Egger from my NYD hatch has been laying...
Pretty bird from halo, but it's blind in one eye and my kids think she is retarded. But I love those gorgeous olive eggs.

I got a few updated photos of the "babies". Of course they aren't babies any more. I think one of the AM pullets has started laying.

Very nice black AM. These guys have me baffled on sex. You would think I would know by now but the only ones I am sure of are the lav's, their saddle feathers are pretty obvious.

I submitted this one for the calendar for November.
