Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

I didn't have the money to buy a load of gravel the last time so DH and I shoveled, well me mostly, most of the gravel back. Not perfect but passable. I'm very careful to make sure the culverts stay clear of debris. When the water is running my boys can sail boats and play in the water for days.
My dog, cats, and chickens like the running stream, too. There is always a little bit of water up in the top of the hollow, and the chickens always run there first when they are let out (even though they have plenty of water), but everyone loves to drink from and wade in that stream when the water is running high!
How cool is Brinsea for donating the incubator?
It is amazing! That's an awesome prize, and it's cool that they are aware of our hatch.

Ok, I am skipping to the end. For now. My first question is can I attempt to hatch just one egg? I am not doing any of the contests and I don't care if it doesn't hatch. My second question is . . . I'll save that for later.

I go to see a doctor (or nurse practitioner) once a year, just to renew my Requip prescription (for Restless Leg Syndrome). That's it.

I went to see a young new doctor today. He and his wife are both physicians and new to the local clinic. B has seen his wife before and really liked her. Actually, I had no intention of going to see any doctor. They all ganged up on me around here, though. Mike, B, and Tyler, all threatened to take me to the ER. So, I agreed to an office visit.

I have been coughing my head off. It started a couple weeks ago, I suppose. It just keeps getting worse. If I dare to lay down, I have fits of coughing lasting forever. Last night I did get a few hours rest though. I took some NyQuil and slept in the recliner. I know my lungs are full of gunk. I can feel it.

So, I go to the doctor wanting some dang cough syrup..... that's all, just give me some cough syrup!
He doesn't like cough syrup! WHAT????? I want some cough syrup!

He proceeds to tell me that this gunk I have - started with a sinus infection that drained into my lungs and caused bronchitis. Bull-crap! I have never ever in my life had a sinus infection. NEVER! My ears started hurting today, too. Well now, I had suffered with earaches alot as a child, and a few times as an adult. He says my ears look fine. Well, then, why do they hurt? Yes, I had a headache (and I rarely ever have a headache). BUT, not a sinus headache. I know why I had a headache..... FROM COUGHING!

I also told him that the antibiotic I took in Iowa was Ceclor (as I am allergic to penicillin), and it was effective. "What?" he says. "That is not an antibiotic. It is a decongestant." No, sir, it is the antibiotic I took in the past. He looked it up. It wasn't on his cute little electronic gadget. So, he pulled out another thing a-ma-gig. "Oh, well, yes, it is in the cephalosporin family." YES, it is! "Oh well, the one I am prescribing is even better than that one."

So, here I am, at home, whining and complaining, with prescriptions for Prednisone, an antibiotic, and an inhaler.... AND NO COUGH SYRUP!

Don't mess with your lungs.............last year I had a chest x-ray and they decided I had bacterial pneumonia. When it didn't get better, they sent me for a CT scan and referred me to a specialist, turns out I had a lung abcess. Six months and about ten CT scans later (I now glow in the dark from the radiation), my lungs finally cleared up.

Take care of yourself.

I'd say as long as you aren't in the small, best hatch rate contest, you'd be fine.

Tell us if you're in... the more the merrier!

I had an awesome day. Fixed a toilet. (On the honey do list).

Climbed to the top of Camelback Mountain.... took me 43 minutes... Not bad for an old fat man.

Had a new pump filter put in for the pool. They are NOT cheap. Oh well... the old one was 40 years old and they wouldn't fix it again.

Took my son to go for a test drive of a car we are buying for him to take to school. It's a 1992 Executive series Town Car....dreamy and it only has 79,000 miles on it. Everything works. the only thing that doesn't is the airbags. They were replaced with springs. .. but still a real nice ride. Leather seats look like they've hardly been used. The only thing I want to replace on it is the front headlights. They've clouded over a bit with age.

I even took a nice long afternoon nap.

DW is out with the mishies. Hope she's home soon. DS#2 is going out with a friend downtown to First on Friday

all of the other kiddies are just hanging around with neighbor kids watching TV and playing video games...

I wanna take DW out to dinner... I doubt she'll want to go. (she's super skinny and doesn't eat at night)

So happy about the Brinsea Prize... I hope you'll all promote it on all of the threads that you frequent!

Nifty says it's open to all BYC members... but there'll only be one guess per member and once the guess is made it CAN'T BE changed.

I imagine most folks will make their guesses sometime in the week between March 17th and March 24th.
Once you know exactly how many eggs you'll be setting, be certain to put it down in the link found in POST#1!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

@Razadia - So glad it was over and not on top of you. The reports of the devastation have been horrid.

I really really despise OnTrac delivery. Every time Amazon sends me something using them they manage to screw it up. My 900 lumen flashlight was supposed to be delivered today. They said "front door". Not there. My street is a very low traffic area. It's not like someone would drive by and see a small package in my screen door or behind the planter. Then their CS said they would contact the driver and have him come and show me where he left the package. He's not answering their calls.
