I bought some eggs on ebay to be delivered in time for the hatch. I got an email tonight asking for my address, again, so I won't be getting them until Monday or Tuesday. Fortunately I did get my swap eggs and EE/Iowa Blue eggs from karimw, so will be setting those at noon tomorrow (only 1135 here on the west coast right now).

Ugggh, pay more for yummy maple syrup!! Sigh, at least it is worth every drop... unlike that icky stuff we put in the gas tanks.



Still enjoying my BHep eggs... Two cute little chickies dashing about. Well, ok, they are actually getting close to 3 months, and I do hope they lay pretty eggs soon. You have been warned to start knitting some scarves, yes??


There are Friesan chickens??? That is not something I needed to know. Do they have feathers on their legs, just like the horses??




And, I fear, my guess on how many eggs will be set for the Brinsea prize was way low. Maybe by a gazillion even.

Oh yeah, Friesian chickens . They have clean legs, but they sure are pretty! They are large fowl but still small birds.

I know lol !!!! the only why to get new breed here is to have full grown birds. they can take the trip, eggs can't. I was thinking of importing the welsummers but WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I didn't even get into pricing importing. I guess I'll just sit and hope that someone can't find anything else better to spend their money on besides importing Friesians and sending me some eggs. Surely though someone already has a small flock going, and I just can't find them because they are doing good to keep up with their local orders and don't have to advertise. Hopefully that is the case and we start seeing more friesians.

hmm... This sheds a new light on why people smuggle. How many Friesians to you think I can fit in a suitcase?

Well I won't hold my breath on the matter, but I hope they start popping up soon.

Ok! My eggs are all ready to go and the form is filled out. I have: 18 eggs from happyhensny (australorps and chanteclers), 24 eggs from SCG (EE and NN) and 6 of my own, which should be leghorn/BO mixes. Go chickies go!

I will be setting at least one more egg in the bator tomorrow... hubby was in the shop which has a place partitiioned off for the coop, when my hens started singing the egg song. Apparently hubby and his brother aren't fans lol. I'm still waiting to fill out the form until I know for sure how many eggs I'm setting, I have to make things difficult.
