thank you for the laughs, I need it right now, not doing too good right now...........

So are Freisian chickens from Europe?

I'm hatching eggs from birds that were imported two years ago. (Sulmtalers from Switzerland)

Since I can't have roos, I'll be keeping hens for the breeder as "a back up" in case something were to happen to her flock.
Greenfire is selling new chicks of this breed for $99 a chick!

Tardy little girls!

Nah I'll pass this time, I put in a bunch of Switzerland Sulmtalers so I will actually have some stacked now!

I think it's cool that I have Swiss Eggs in the bator because I am 1/8 Swiss. Must be why I love all kinds of cheeses.

But Renee... maybe we can do a 'grab bag' of eggs next Easter Hatch too?... and you can add some more of the many exotic breeds you have going!

Any old time! Just wish they really fun ones had cooperated this time!

Mahonri. OW! ow ow ow ow ow. OW.

Indeed. The worst thing about burns is they never really tone down into a dull ache...it's this acute screaming signal all the time. Good time for an induced coma, if you ask me.

Yeah so is Kansas. Just not Jan and Feb and July and August. In the winter we feeze, in the summer we fry. (-20 to 120 in just six monthes)

My favorite is the days when you have a 50 or 60 degree spread in one day in the spring like last week! And it's always good fun to explain to folks in places like Arizona that our 115 is with 78% humidity...theirs is 8%.

Okay. I'm off to bed now. Have a website deadline kicking my booty, and I'm just not able to make heads nor tails of code anymore...too tired.

By coincidence we are setting eggs for the first time on this day and I just came across this thread.
I will admit I haven't read all 500+ pages of this thread so I apologize if I missed something.

Our Brinsea Eco 20 came this last week and we have 18 eggs collected but I want
to add 4 of a friends eggs in too so I gotta figure out which ones make the cut.
This is pretty cool to have so many people hatching when we are trying it out for the 1st time,
I hope I can watch this thread, learn and maybe even ask a question or two.

So count us in.

Our eggs are:
RIR roosters possibly crossed with:
RIR hens
Delaware hens
Partridge Rock hens
Wellsummer hens
and Red Sexlink hens
Friends are full Buff Orphingtons

Welcome to the hatcha long! Yes we ask loads of questions here and get loads of answers! When you have time, you will find nuggets of super info in the first 500 pages.

Just after 7PM here and I'm tired. I hope I can sleep. The nurse told me that if I didn't feel pain, THEN I would really need to worry because that would mean that the heat had destroyed all of the nerves and blood vessels.

So... I suppose I can be happy I'm hurting.

Yup--she's right. But the good thing is they do regrow and repair. THe damaged nerves give a clue to the damage. Step father was a burn specialist. Left a deep impression to fear severe burns. THanks for reminding all of us to be careful.
