I have a Brinsea Spot Check Thermometer. It's spot on.

It actually did go up to 97.4... but I'm thinking that's cuz it's getting warmer in the house.

Thanks for the concern and advice! I knew it wasn't mercury but an alcohol thermometer but I was worried about the beads containing lead. I got my cell charged enough and called poison control. The beads steel shot but probably have lead, but not enough to cause lead poisoning. Thank God! They said he'll be totally fine and I'll probably find some beads in his poop. I'm seriously thinking about getting a landline since my cell phone can't hold a charge more than a few hours and half the time its dead. wow....what a day.

When my kids attended preschool, their doctor checked their blood regualrly for lead levels. The building was a lovely ols school and had the roof repaired and the kids were picking up lead, nails and slate that the workmen missed. Even this was not enough to raise my sons levels. So I do hope the kids are fine.

So glad everything is good. I was worried. The thought of him chewing the glass and beads gave me the willies.
