have your teacher change her date and have them join in with us. I am havind my 4th grade do that. Then they can each have a guess on how many will hatch. I will probabley have to put them in a day later so they can hatch monday morning for the kids to see.

with great sadness i report that i wont be participating in this hatch! i have promised my incubator to a kindergarten teacher and we are setting eggs for her class on march 21. i wish all you hatchers the very best and will be reading your updates daily.

i thought about doing that but its right when we get back from spring break and i wont even be home until late on the 18th, so there would be no time to set up the incubator until monday afternoon then it still has to heat up. i've looked at it every way i could and i really want a successful hatch for the kids, dont want my rushing to ruin anything. i've talked with the teacher and we agreed wed would be best because it coincides with her egg/chicken lesson. its going to be so cool, she even asked me to be a guest speaker

Setting on a Wednesday does make sense for the classroom. Early chicks born Monday or Tuesday and late chicks born Thursday and Friday, would still have the chance of being seen by the class. Will you be taking the hatchlings home?

It's been a busy few days.

Get your friends in on this hatch, they won't want to miss it... just wait till you see some of the prizes that will be announced.

So I did the perimeter at Squaw Peak this morning... 1hr 14 mins. FUN. and it was only 37 degrees when I started. Brrrr

Coop and NYD grow out pen are all clean with fresh shavings.

Sprayed the burr clover on the front lawn with WeedBgone. Did some honeydo's.

I'm tired... think I'll take a nap.

DS#4 is up in Flagstaff snowboarding today, I'll be worried until he gets home and DS#5 is going to a friends B-day party tonight.... I told him he had to come home early. DW did a DEEP cleaning of the master bath... er she's still working on it. Did I ever tell ya all that I'm the luckiest man on the planet?

I would like to sponsor a contest. It would be good to start preparing now, I think. My goal is to make a chicken themed calendar. I want it to be holiday themed, as well. So, my contest is for calendar quality pictures of holiday (month related) chicken pictures. Prize will be........ oh, I will wait on that decision.

Limit of 3 entries per person, and they must PM them to me as well as post them in this thread (so I don't miss any). I also request permission to use their photo in a calendar printing.
