Mahonri, be careful assisting. Sometimes they just seem stuck, but you don't want to injure mom. A pup with no tail can happen with any dog and you'll probably get all sizes. The big one is probably just that. The big one. Just think, I used to dock tails as mine were born. You don't have to do that. LOL

Wasn't daddy a chocolate lab? At least in labs chocolate and yellow are recessive, can't get a black from breeding the two together...are you sure they aren't brownies? I had a litter of mini doxies last Tuesday, always exciting! Good luck!

It's weird. Dad is an AKC registered Chocolate Lab... mama is an AKC registered red Golden Retriever.

All three pups BLACK. Female is larger than the first tail-less male, smaller than the 2nd HUGE male.

My son thinks he'll be culling #1... I told him to give him a chance.

I'm trying to get him to go to bed. He says he won't because his dog is in labor.

He has to be up for school at 5:30 and it's past midnight now!

Yeah, tail less in labs or goldens isn't very common. It could be a sign of spinal biffida (sp?). But if he dosnt look obviously deformed I would give him a shot if he is wanting to nurse and try.

I may have a nervous breakdown. She's been having lots of abdominal contractions... for quite sometime.

I just can't watch her, it hurts me to watch.

I'm a HUGE wimp.

How many kids do you have? More than one if I remember correctly. You can't be THAT big of a wimp.
