Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

I want to make this plucker!! Ihave an old washer in basement for it's parts. (Mainers don't throw away anything.) WIll check out the motor. Collected 2 sheets of 1/2 inch polyboard. Just made up the name--don't know what the correct term is fot his material. Waterproof and a bit flexible. Need a tub . . .hmmmm. . . .

THe fingers are made of what?? I have seen rubber bungees used in smaller versions.
They ordered them from a farm catalog, I'll get all the particulars at lunch and post here later today.

Caught up for the morning. I'm awake way too early and this morning has been terrible.

My mom walked into my room (after I had been asleep for only an hour) and told me one of our dogs was dead. Fantastic. Problem is, he was perfectly fine last night and all day yesterday. He was his normal bouncy self and nothing abnormal happened. He was fed the same thing we always feed him. No chocolate icecream was anywhere near him yesterday and even if there had been, he wouldn't have eaten it. Our other dog outside is perfectly fine. He's just upset. The cats are working overtime on trying to comfort everyone and my mom's dog is laying next to me in the chair. NOTHING was wrong with him yesterday.

I'm just so confused. He wasn't old at all. Cisco was only about 6 years old. We've had heart worm problems in the past and we know it starts showing at least a week before they die. He didn't have rabies and there were no bite marks on him where he could have gotten in a fight with anything. There was just blood, foam, and signs of him thrashing before he died. He didn't have access to poison or anything of the like. Someone had to have come in the yard, at night, to have done this. He wasn't sick.

From what I can tell he was only dead for about 2 hours before mom found him. (this was a process I did not enjoy.) I spent my morning helping my brother dig a grave for him. This morning has been horrible.
Oh honey :hugs I'm so sorry. Any chance he caught a rat, mouse or other rodent that was poisoned and stubbled into his path as it was dying?

Hi AK Michelle,

What breed is the rooster in the front?

Thanks!

That is Kelinn, my first Icelandic roo. He was a true cuddled bug when younger, now he is too busy watching his flock to pay much attention to me. An excellent guardian, always watchful and when he sounds the alert, all the girls vanish into thin air. There are three Roos in there but he is clearly in charge. And he is a true gentleman wit the ladies ;). Happy hens = more eggs. :D

I'm not a traveler--AK would be on my short list though.

My mother's college roommate's husband spends a lot of time in AK; he's from Maine and hunts and fishes now that he's retired. Last time I saw him at a family get together he had flown back with coolers of frozen fish. Unbelievably good fish!

THank you for helping find my way to my sig line everyone!! Knew this was the place to ask.

Found a section under the sig line ( in My profile) called "Your lists." Lists of what? Poultry wish lists? Will Dh see and know what I'm planning next ??

I created a member page with links to countdown pages for everything listed on page 1.
