I'll be following this advice for those I have coming that will be shipped. My hatch rate from shipped eggs last year was dismal....5-20%I have one Blue Isbar egg in the incubator due on Saturday that has such a wonky aircell that I'm not expecting much.......now the five Icelandic eggs, from my flock, (you know, as a control group for the shipped eggs, NOT for any other reason...you understand....right?) are all looking great.![]()
I don't have an automatic turner so I will place the shipped eggs upright in egg carton bottoms and not turn them until the 6th day....I will candle at 10 days and remove non-developers but will be leaving them in the carton bottoms to hatch.
