you will be setting some eggs for this hatch that won't have to endure shipping and those should do great!!

I'll be following this advice for those I have coming that will be shipped. My hatch rate from shipped eggs last year was dismal....5-20%

I have one Blue Isbar egg in the incubator due on Saturday that has such a wonky aircell that I'm not expecting much.......now the five Icelandic eggs, from my flock, (you know, as a control group for the shipped eggs, NOT for any other reason...you understand....right?) are all looking great.
I don't have an automatic turner so I will place the shipped eggs upright in egg carton bottoms and not turn them until the 6th day....I will candle at 10 days and remove non-developers but will be leaving them in the carton bottoms to hatch.

Also will the cheat sheet help cause I have a forced air Bator

The only thing I see that is different is the level of humidity for the first 18 days--Force air should be 20% Humidity for a dry hatch.

You should use the cheat sheet and add the tip I just gave regarding repairing air cells.

Hope you get some to hatch!

Yes, and I am excited for those! My own eggs are progressing perfectly. I've had OK results with shipped eggs, but not this bad

K guys, I'm quite dissapointed! I am at day 21 on my very first hatch and have NO pips! I tried the dry hatch, 20% humidity for the first 18 days then raised to 80% on day 18. Temp was constant at 99.5-100, what may have gone wrong? I hve an auto Turner as well.
There can be a million reasons: Were the eggs shipped and scrambled?
Were the eggs really fertile?
Were the eggs taken OUT of the turner on day 18?

I always do a dry hatch... 25% to 30% for the first 18 days, then 67% humidity on day 19.... as the chicks hatch, the humidity will fluctuate.

I would also get a Brinsea spot check thermometer. I found out that my Brinsea 20 was telling me one thing, but the temp was about 1.5 degrees lower, so I had to adjust accordingly.

See, now you have all the kinks out, you'll have a great Easter Hatch!1

Yes they came out of the Baroda for approx a min so I could take them off the Turner and place on wire mesh in the hater. Not shipped, I know they were fertile as I checked several before placing n the Bator and all were fertile

At work and worried about the eggs....hope the humidy is coming up at home. This is sooo stressfull! lol Maybe I should quit my day job.

Once again, I say to yet another poster.....................Where are your priorities? You should definitely quit that job that keeps you away from home. Your life's intended day job is to spend as many hours as possible with your nose pressed to the incubator window. At least, I've convinced my DH that is my life's work. Right now I'm in the house, messing around between here, putting eggs into lockdown and staring at the ones that started to pip last night.

He is outside working on additional coops/runs. Isn't that how it's intended to be?

Did you check fertility by looking for a Bullseye? If so, all eggs will have a bullseye. the difference is the size. A fertile bullseye will be 1/8 inch in size. You have to use a magnifying glass and a ruler. Even so, that is not a guarantee of fertility.

I say this because I put 39 eggs into my incubator that were "feritle" and none of them developed. Another group of 19 had 11 that developed. It turns out that the rooster in the first group may never have been fertile.

There is are tips here about fertility.

Did you year any chirping?
