Bad news:
One egg has a dent/crack and of course it had to be one of the fluffy AMs.

Question/advice for/from all of you:
Should I tape/wax the egg and set it or not take the chance that bacteria has gotten in and could damage other eggs? Here is a pic:

I vote on waxing it and giving it a try. That is alot of cracking (read loss of air and possible transmission of bacteria through the opening) I'd try waxing it to minimize it. The good news is it looks like it is one the top and shouldn't be any problem for the pipping and zipping Silkied Am to get out!!

I didn't actually count what I set, because I have more to set later and more coming. But I did set the ones I had. I got my Gabbard assortment and am kinda disappointed, first time buying eggs without extras and the box was beat to deat but only had one egg that was broken. But I'm disappointed, last time I got the most amazing assortment, this time pretty bland, and instead of a lot of different breeds, there were a few and a ton of silver spangled hamburgs. Beautiful birds, but not something I am going to want a lot of, or I think people will buy.

Bring it on, SuperChemicalGirl ! ! !

Well, thank Heaven!
I hate it when they say they're still here and they show up. Someone in the PO is laughing their tookas off.

I am a dude, dude. Married almost 25 years with 7 children. I'll never be able to retire because of all of the little darlings.
Today they all had to turn off their cell phones. We have no more minutes until next Sunday. I'm a mean dad.

I just reduced our bill with t-mobile and increased our minutes. Great change!! I've got locks on the kids' that won't let them burn more than 500 mins, though, just in case.

WAHOO! It's an Easter Hatch MIRACLE! A Festivus for the rest of us!

Let the Airing of Grievances begin!!

hi i have been trying for 2 days and my hummidity does not want to go past 45 and my temp is stuck at 95 i can not seem to get them to go up

Don't worry about the humidity- you don't want it up that high until the end. Under 40 is good.

Survey seems to be to try it so I am gonna go for it. I will just keep a close eye/nose on it. First sign of a blood ring and out it goes. Just worried about chancing the rest of them. Thank you Featherz and Mahonri (I was hoping to hear that advice!)
I'd wax that crack after misting it with povidone iodine (betadine) mixed with 50% water solution. Then when dry, let the heat of the wax be another little security against bacteria.

Glad the dirty buggers made it to you! Sorry about all the mud...

Correct! Unless its Halloween! LOL

While quoting Seinfeld, I have to say, "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Ok... here is my set... 24 welsummer eggs were set on 3/7 (10 days early) removed 5 clear last night. 18 AM/EE's, 5 BLRW and 1 RIRX... now to find another incubator to use as a hatcher!! LOL!!! My DH is just shaking his head at me!! LOL!!! My swap eggs never arrived... I don't think they were sent as I only received 1 PM from her right after the address's were posted. All of these eggs were locally bought, so I'm

praying for a GREAT hatch rate!!!

That stinks! Your swap partner needs a what-for!!

I taped it really well and I am going to keep a close eye on it. No exploding eggs in the bator for me.
